Our strategy for increased sustainability
Sustainability practices are an integral part of our strategic ambition and in the past year 2022 we have, in cooperation with Mister Green Aruba, Bopel Technical Services and Elmar, installed around 200 solar panels on the roof of our warehouse facility on Aruba.
Our ambition is to install more solar panels but under today’s regulations in Aruba this capacity is the allowed maximum. In the first months we have already realized a reduction of around 30% of our energy usage, a great achievement for a better climate. Furthermore, we also replaced traditional lighting in our warehouse facility with energy-efficient LED lights.
In the past years we have switched from fuel driven logistical equipment, such as order pickers, reach trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts, to electrical equipment. Our next goal will be the replacement of our fuel driven trucks by hybrid and/or electrical vehicles.
